Lenovo is finally launching their entry-level handset, the Moto G4 Play in India on September 6th. It features a Qualcomm 410 chipset, 2GB of RAM and Android Marshmallow.
Lenovo’s Moto G 4th Gen series has had mixed reviews in the Indian smartphone market due to the widely known heating issues. However, the company is planning to escalate those sales by launching yet another budget handset, the Moto G4 Play which was originally introduced back in May. The company has been promoting the new product on its social profiles and has mentioned the onset of sales from September 6th. Additionally, the campaign image reveals that the phone will be an Amazon-exclusive. Unlike its siblings, the G4 Play is rather barebones in terms of specifications and resembles last year’s Moto G3 at some levels.
To begin with, the Moto G4 Play features a5-inch 720p IPS panel on the front and comes with the same looks as we saw on the Moto G4/G4 Plus. Additionally, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad-Core processor clocked at clocked at 1.2Ghz, Adreno 306, 1/2GB of RAM,8/16GB of internal memory with MicroSD expansion available and is fueled by aremovable 2800mAh battery. The phone runs on Android Marshmallow with the usual set of Moto-branded applications and functions. There’s an 8MP rear f/2.2 lens assisted by a LED flash and a 5MP front-facing f/2.2 shooter.

It is, as of now, uncertain whether Lenovo will announce both the storage variants or not. The Moto G4 Play will directly go on sale starting from September 6th on Amazon, although, pricing is currently unknown. From the promotion videos and specifications, it can be perceived that Moto G4 Play will be priced in the entry-level segment against Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S Prime.
