Vivo V9 Launched in India with AI Camera

Vivo has today launched its new flagship smartphone – the Vivo V9 in India for Rs 22,990.

Now Coming to the Vivo V9 specifications, it features a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) in-cell IPS Full-View Display panel with 19:9 aspect ratio, and sports a notch design.

Talking about the storage, it has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset. On the camera part, It sports dual-lens rear camera with 16 MP primary, 5 MP depth-sensing secondary camera and 24 MP front which supports AR stickers, portrait mode and Face Beauty feature to click flawless selfies. It will be available in Pearl Black, Champagne Gold and Sapphire Blue colour variants.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 system-on-chip. It has arrived as a successor for the Vivo V7 smartphone that was launched previous year with full-screen design. And now that the Vivo V9 has been officially launched in India, it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against its identical twin. The F2.0 aperture along with LED flash allows for more light to deliver high quality images even in low-light conditions.

Vivo V9 comes with a dimension of 154.8 x 75.1 x 7.9 mm. Actual sales begin April 2. Vivo has also added gesture navigation, which is similar to that found on the iPhone X. You can swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen to go back, or stop half-way to reveal the app switcher. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo flavoured FunTouch OS. But if you look closely, Vivo has delicately reduced the size of the notch and it’s quite smaller in size as compared to Apple’s. On the front, you’ll get a 24MP camera with support for a portrait mode as well as AR stickers and Face Beauty feature. It has Dual Primary cameras comprising of 16MP with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture + 5MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone also comes with face unlock detection.

As far as the power sources are concerned, the Vivo V9 derives its power from a non-removable 3260mAh Li-Ion battery, while the Oppo F7 is backed by a slightly larger 3,400mAh battery which is touted to last up to 15 hours on a single charge.
